Joy Ximenez will be holding a Family service class in Gallup - date and time to be announced at a later date.  American Red Cross volunteers will be trained in all aspects of Red Cross casework.  To quote from ARC training material, the Red Cross is responsible for working with individuals and families to address their disaster-caused needs.  In doing so, the Red Cross considers the emotional,, physical, and material needs created or aggravated by the disaster and provides assistance for those items that are essential to the individual's or family's continuing recovery.

The training will cover developing a Case Record (form 901); planning with the individuals/families to address disaster-caused emergency needs; making appropriate referrals to use established public and private resources; providing direct assistance in obtaining supplies and services that meet disaster-caused needs (training of the CAS system and DOs).

There is no cost for volunteers who take this course.  Esco Chavez will be coordinating this with the new McKinley County volunteers.
