Overview

Red Cross Online Training offers a way to get trained in vital life-saving skills on your own time, at your own pace, online. Our courses meet both American Red Cross course standards and increasing consumer need for internet based learning.
Online training courses are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week from any computer with an Internet connection. Red Cross Online Training courses are easy to understand and navigate.

Photographs, illustrations, videos and written instruction explain and demonstrate skills. Red Cross Online Training courses are designed to meet a variety of learning needs and styles. And they work with adaptive technology.

Online Training Timeline

Students have 14 days to complete online training. Online training may take up to three hours to complete; however, students can start and stop the course at their convenience. The course does not need to be completed in one sitting, which makes it ideal for individuals who cannot dedicate long periods of time at once.

Certification

Students are required to complete the online test and score 80% or better on the final exam before they are awarded a nationally-recognized American Red Cross certification card.

Skill Sessions

Students who take CPR, AED or Basic First Aid courses must attend a hands-on skill session with an authorized American Red Cross instructor for certification.
Skill sessions offer a way for students to demonstrate the skills they learned online. Each skill session has an instructor to student ration of one to 12. By keeping this ration low, students may receive personal attention from the Red Cross Instructor. Skill sessions must be attended within 30 days of completing the online course. Online students can easily view and register for skill sessions online by clicking the skill session button.

Skill sessions are regularly scheduled, at various times, to accommodate most schedules. Students can expect to spend approximately two to four hours at a skill session, depending on the course certification.
